Tom is a personal trainer and exercise specialist who received his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology (the study of motion of the human body) with a specialization in exercise science from the University of Rhode Island. Throughout his career, Tom has studied and executed many different applications of exercise. In addition to his familiarity of exercise in healthy adults, he has also trained adults with health conditions such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes. Tom has also performed extensive research in physical activity and weight training in children and prepubescent teenagers, which helps him design fitness plans that are extremely effective for the younger population. Tom’s wide knowledge of exercise allows him to know the subtle differences needed to train all people regardless of age, gender or level of fitness.
Tom began his career in personal training at a large corporate gym. He quickly realized that this was not the atmosphere that he wanted to work in. It was always crowded and busy and it was very tough to conduct a personal training session in that setting. That was what lead Tom to open a private fitness studio. In a private studio, there are no crowds, no waiting for machines, and no distractions, just one on one attention from your personal trainer.
